Where do refurbished products come from?
Not every returned sleep product is faulty. In many cases, a customer simply decides that a particular firmness, height or feel isn't right for them.
Comfort trial returns
Some products are returned during our comfort trial because the customer prefers a different firmness, height or sleeping feel.
Opened or unpacked products
A product may have been unpacked or handled and therefore can no longer be sold as completely new, despite remaining perfectly functional.
Too good to throw away
Where a returned product remains suitable for further use, we would rather carefully prepare it for a new home than unnecessarily dispose of it.
How we prepare refurbished products
Returned products are not simply put back into a box and sent to another customer. Each eligible refurbished item goes through a preparation and inspection process before being offered for resale.
Initial inspection
The item is checked for its overall condition and suitability for resale. Products that do not meet our refurbished-product criteria are not offered for sale.
Cleaning & preparation
Eligible products are cleaned and prepared before resale, including treatment of the removable cover where appropriate.
Final quality check
We check that the product remains suitable for its intended use before it can be classified as refurbished stock.
Repacked
Once approved, the product is repacked and clearly sold as a refurbished item rather than as brand-new stock.

Has my refurbished product been used before?
It may have been. Refurbished stock can include products returned after being opened or used during a customer comfort trial. This is why these products are clearly sold as refurbished and offered at a reduced price.
Why was the original customer returning it?
Sleep comfort is very personal. A topper can feel too firm for one person and perfect for another; the same applies to pillow height, firmness and shape. A return therefore does not necessarily mean that there was anything wrong with the product.
Are refurbished products cleaned?
Eligible products go through our cleaning, preparation and inspection process before resale. Items that we do not consider suitable for refurbished sale are excluded.
Will it look completely new?
Not necessarily. A refurbished item may have minor cosmetic signs of previous handling or use. These do not necessarily affect its function and are part of the reason refurbished products are sold for less.
